Vagamon is a hill station located in Idukki district of Kerala about 1100m above sea level and about 65 kilometers away from Kottayam Town. It has a cool climate with the temperature between 10 and 23 °C during a summer midday.It is situated on the borders of Kottayam and Idukki districts of Kerala. Vagamon hillstation comprises of 3 hills, namely Thangal Kunnu, Murugan Kunnu and Kurishu Mala.
The Vagamon region, which is filled with lush greenery throughout the entire year, is loved by enthusiasts and adventure lovers for trekking, para-gliding, rock climbing, etc. Thangal para, which consists of a number of small rocks which are generally flat and having inclinations to minor angles is a major attraction here. Different varieties of flowering plants and flowers including different species of orchids are found here.
It is situated 1,100 metres above sea level. Vagamon was discovered by the British who found the place ideal for tea plantations and they were followed by Christian missionaries who built their abode of service at Kurisumala in Vagamon.
